1st, 2nd and 3rd International Conferences "Current problems in Optics of Natural Waters"

ONW'2001   ONW'2003   ONW'2005
From 1974 to 1990 the Laboratory had organized 11 Plenums on ocean and atmospheric optics which were the main hydrooptical conferences in the Former Soviet Union. Now the traditions of these conferences had been renewed. In 2001, 2003, 2005 the Laboratory have organized and held three international conferences.

The Conference Topics:

  • Fundamental problems of radiative transfer theory

  • Optical properties of natural waters

  • Light propagation in water media

  • Optical remote sensing and underwater imaging

  • Optics of pure and contaminated sea surface

  • Optics of maritime atmosphere

More than 100 scientists from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, USA, France, UK, Italy, Poland, Japan, Israel, Finland, Norwey, Turkey, and Mexico took part in each of the conference. We are going to continue ONW-conference series in 2005 and every following odd-numbered years as a complement to the Ocean Optics conference series held in even numbered years in the West countries.

The IV International Conference "Current Problems in Optics of Natural Waters (ONW'2007)" will be held in Nizhiy Novgorod, Russia, September 11-15, 2007
